Advent is defined as the arrival of a notable person, thing, or event. For Christians, Advent is the 4-week preparation for the celebration of God’s gift to us, the birth of Jesus Christ. This is the season which we use to prepare for and remember the real meaning of Christmas. We celebrate the coming of Jesus into the world, which is part of God’s bigger plan. God wants us to realize that He has come to care for us, so we can get to know Him and to build a relationship with Him. God didn’t give Christians the gift of Jesus for us to keep to ourselves; it is meant to be shared with others. So, this year, as we enter the Advent season, let’s keep our eyes open for opportunities to share God’s message to those who don’t know Him yet.
