Has anyone ever mentioned that you look just like your mom or have eyes like your dad, beautiful hair like your sister or you smile just like your brother? The Bible says in Genesis 1:27 that God created mankind in HIS image and likeness. God’s design of man is perfect. When God looks at us, He doesn’t see our flaws, or those things we are most self-conscious about. He sees His creation that He knows by name and calls His children. He sees Jesus’ blood that was shed covering us as atonement for our sins. How much light could Christians shine if we started seeing ourselves through those same eyes? How much more would we invite people into experiencing the love of Christ if we could see what they could look like when they also accepted the gift of salvation given by God through Christ? How would we show up differently if our desire was to see everybody covered in Christ’s sacrificial blood? Let’s experience the blessing that will occur when we start to see everyone as God’s children.
