In Ephesians 3:20, Paul writes: “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us…” I love those words because they remind me of the amazing things God can do with ordinary people, like me.
It reminds me of a story about a great classical pianist. At one of his concerts, a young boy slipped away from his mother and found his way to the stage. When the theater curtains opened and the lights came on, there he sat at the giant grand piano. When the boy suddenly began to play, “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star,” the audience erupted in laughter.
Just as the embarrassed mother rushed toward the stage, the great pianist himself came out. He whispered in the boy’s ear as the boy continued to play and then reached down and began filling in a bass part with his left hand. Soon, he reached down with his right hand and added a running obbligato. When they were finished with their spontaneous composition, the audience broke forth in thunderous applause.
That’s how God works in our lives, too. Imagine the beautiful music you will make!
