At a church I once served, the first time I walked into the youth room I noticed a line of stick figures had been painted on the wall. They were holding hands and encircling the entire room. It wasn’t until I’d been there a while that I noticed one of the stick figures was upside down. When I asked about it, I was told it was because sometimes everyone feels like they’re the one who doesn’t fit in. It was also pointed out to me that even though the one stick figure was upside down, he was still in the circle. It was reminder to hang in there even when everything in your life seems out of whack, because other people are there to hold you up.
