A few days ago, I said goodbye to our Youth Mission Team as they headed to Adventureland for their well-deserved fun day after five days working at camp.
It’s the end of that journey for me. I have loved every minute (even those minutes when kids won’t rest/sleep when they’re supposed to, or when I was rearranging or finding work to keep our crews busy), but my heart tells me it’s time.
In the midst of my tears (made it into the building first!), I asked God out loud why he would take this from me. And even before the words were out of my mouth, I sensed His Spirit reassuring my heart audibly, “Because I have other things in store for you my dear child”.
Change, and letting go are hard. But guess who understands that? Our God. And guess who is going to give us wings to fly when we step out in faith to follow? Our God. I’d be happy to pray for you if you are facing ‘letting go’ and ‘change’. And I humbly ask that you do the same for me.
Thanks, to all my Youth Mission Trip Cherubs (and adults) present and past for serving our God and representing our church so well. It was an honor to be and to share the good news of Jesus Christ with you! 🙂
Deut. 31:8 – “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not fail or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”
