The adult choir would like to invite anyone, ages high school – ?? who loves to sing to join us for our Easter cantata. This year’s cantata is “Where Love and Mercy Meet” and is a beautiful mix of popular new music and beloved classics. Through song and narration it highlights Jesus’ commitment to all of us that there would be a place where sinners can find mercy, the afflicted can find healing, the broken can find compassion, and the outcast can find dignity – the cross of Christ – where love and mercy meet.
The choir is a group of volunteers who come from all backgrounds and musical experiences. Some of us don’t even read music! Together we work, learn and laugh as a family to present God’s word in song. If you would like to give the choir a try for a short time, why not join us for the cantata? We would love for you to experience this special event in the life of our church with us. Many people who aren’t regular choir members joined us last year and several have already committed to sing this year. We hope you will too!
This Easter musical celebration will be presented on Palm Sunday, March 20 at the 10:05 service. Practices will begin on Wednesday, February 3 at 7:30, immediately following small groups. We will finish working on the cantata by 8:10.
Please call me at 319.795.1132 if you have questions or would like to be part of this special experience. If you feel called at the last minute, just join us in the choir loft on February 3 at 7:30!
