Romans 7: 19 “For the good that I want, I do not do, but I practice the very evil that I do not want.”
I heard an illustration lately that spoke to me: A good Christian man was having trouble with swearing. It would just slip out. Upon telling a friend about this, the friend asked if he swore when he was around his grandmother. The good man said “No, I wouldn’t think of doing that.” Well, “Just as you would not do wrong in front of your grandmother, you have Christ living in you. He is in you always, so why would you swear in front of Him?” No matter what sin it is – gossip, crude stories, angry and unloving remarks to others, – Remember, Christ is in us.
