We’ve all experienced disappointment when things don’t work out the way we wanted. Maybe you were heartbroken when a relationship ended or when you didn’t get that dream job. It’s hard to imagine that things are being worked out for your good. But later something better came along— maybe you met your future spouse or were given a job beyond what you imagined.
If your “something better” hasn’t come yet, we are to love and trust God even when circumstances are difficult. We are taught that God is in control and will work things out for the good of those who love Him. We’re never promised that life will be easy, but that things will work out for the best—even when the steps to get there may be unpleasant. Our failures and difficulties are often when we learn and grow the most.
So take heart and put your faith in God’s plan. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
