I love to sing this hymn. It stirs up memories of hearing God’s call and times He prompted me to serve. It also reminds me of the work our Nominating Committee is preparing to undertake; being charged with prayerfully seeking out Ministry Group chair people, Deacons, Elders, Treasurers and special Committee members. Please pray for them. I also ask that you pray for ears to hear the call in your life to serve. As we seek and learn this year about “Finding our Place on the Journey”, we each need to ask what we are doing to serve in the life of this church. “Whom shall I send?” is not just part of a beautiful hymn, it is God calling us to serve in work He has gifted us to do. “…..is it I Lord? I have heard you calling in the night. I will go Lord, if you lead me. I will hold your people in my heart.”
