Our mission leads us to be and to share the good news of Jesus Christ!

David Turner

I began my ministry at First Christian Church in March of 2012 as Senior Pastor. I seek to lead our staff and congregation to be faithful to our mission “to be and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.” I do this by sharing my vision of a Christ centered life through preaching, teaching, pastoral care, and congregational leadership.

I graduated from Culver Stockton College with a B.A. in Religion and Philosophy and served several student churches in the area during that time. After that, I completed a Master of Divinity degree at Lexington Theological Seminary. I was ordained for Christian ministry by the Upper Midwest Region in 1987 and served churches in Ohio for 25 years before returning to the Upper Midwest. I am married to Tammy, a school teacher in the Ft. Madison School district, and have three grown children: Ryan, Joel and Lauren (who is currently a legacy student at Culver Stockton).

What do I love about FCC?

Returning to my roots in Iowa has been a goal of mine for many years. What I love most about First Christian Church is simply being part of vibrant, vital community of faith. I am proud to lead an amazing staff and a congregation that truly lives out its faith. I can’t imagine a greater place to serve our God!
