In our scripture this week of Pentecost, from Acts 2:17 God declares,
“I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.” Through the power of God’s Spirit among the people, young and old alike are having visions and dreaming dreams. The Spirit empowered these people to dream, to be a church of vision!
Let me tell you, one of the biggest reasons I was excited to be called to minister here at First Christian Church is because I gathered that you are a church of vision, who dreams of the great things that God can do through you in this community!
Just as the Spirit of God was alive and at work empowering the people to dream at the first outpouring of the Spirit, the Spirit is alive and among us here today. What are we dreaming up next?! Let us continue to be a church of vision, that dreams about how God can be alive and at work among us at First Christian Church and in this tri-state area!
