It doesn’t seem possible that five years have passed since we had our first Disciples Together Weekend, but it has! This Saturday and Sunday
(Sept. 8-9) will be our 5th annual Disciples Together Weekend. On Saturday, we’ll lovingly witness to our community through service projects, as groups fan out through the city. And then on Sunday, we’ll joyfully witness to our faith through our worship service at the Rand Park Pavilion at 10:30 am.
It’s appropriate that our theme for the upcoming year is “Sharing the Good News.” That’s what First Christian Church does best. We take seriously our mission “to be and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.”
This past weekend, a new family joined our church at our Starting Point service at 11:11 a.m. They have been in the area for about a year and hadn’t been able to find a place that seemed right. They said, “We’ll know it when we see it.” Well, they found a place of genuine faithfulness and loving community at First Christian Church – and I couldn’t agree with them more.
So, be sure to come and be a part of our witness this weekend – and invite your friends and neighbors!
