Our mission leads us to be and to share the good news of Jesus Christ!

All In

This past weekend, I preached on living a life that is “all-in.” I then went home and discovered an illustration in a strange place – my downstairs bathroom. The problem was a leaky shut-off valve to the cold water on my bathroom sink. It turned out to be an easy fix. When the valve is all the way off, it doesn’t leak, but it also doesn’t provide any water. Fortunately, when it’s all the way on, it also doesn’t leak. Anywhere in-between, however, is a different story.

I think a lot of people have a distorted idea about what living a life that is all-in for Jesus looks like. There’s an assumption that wholeheartedly following Jesus means being hyper-religious and constantly peppering our everyday conversation with God talk.

The truth is much simpler. Being a fully committed disciple of Jesus isn’t about superficial signs of faithfulness, but about an inward orientation that seeks to live a life that’s always focused on God. It means keeping a closer watch on our own words and thoughts than those of others. And it means seeking always to love.

Join us in worship and on Wednesday nights as we continue to follow Jesus in the Way!
