Our mission leads us to be and to share the good news of Jesus Christ!

Behind the Scenes from the Staff

I’d like take a moment to reflect upon the devotional we’ve been following during the month of September. The devotional was meant to be an opportunity to take away any anxieties about giving of our resources and a chance to reflect on our faith as well as an opportunity for daily prayer.

During the journey, I know it also given me a chance to think of those willing to give of their talents to His church. Gosh, think about what makes FCC-Keokuk “click” on a Saturday night, Sunday morning or Wednesday evening. It is volunteers willing to give of their talents to please our Lord God! Bands, adult and children’s choirs, “tech booth” people, elders, deacons, greeters, nursery volunteers, Sunday school leaders, Coffee Connection/Starting Point food people, youth/L.I.F.E. group leaders. He’s honored by such faith in the giving of our time.

And, after reading the devotional, I know He is just as honored by the giving of our monetary resources. Jesus spoke of how much more blessed it is to give than to receive. So as I pray over my faith card and write in the number, I am reminded how truly blessed I am. God continues to be so good to me – much better than I deserve! I’ve got good health, a beautiful family (including our first grandbaby!), food, clothing, shelter, a job I love, wonderful friends, and a glorious church family! My faith card has been completed, dropped into the envelope and delivered to the church. How about your faith card?
