Our mission leads us to be and to share the good news of Jesus Christ!

The Church

Right now, as I write, it’s about 10am on a Tuesday morning. And we have about a dozen or more people buzzing around the church working on various mission projects for the church and community. The men of Fellowship of Carpenter’s are in the back fixing and polishing up beds for those in the community who need them. The Sharing Hands ladies are laundering and mending bedding. This is what the church is supposed to look like!

I remember one of my old mentors used to say to me, “Ya know what those old churches with really tall steeples are for? For storing boats with really tall sails.” It’s a sad statement, but the point is clear. The church is supposed to more than that. Right now our gym is stuffed with stuff. Just packed with bed supplies. And I really can’t think of a better use of our space, than for a storehouse for mission supplies, a launching pad for disciples to go out into the community to love and serve. Thank God for each of you with the willingness to give as God calls us to, to serve as God asks us to, to step in and be the hands and feet of Jesus!
