I serve as the Youth Minister for First Christian Church-Keokuk and I’m responsible for creating engaging learning environments for the next generation. With a master’s in education from Buena Vista University, I am passionate about using my spiritual gift of teaching for God’s glory. I love providing a safe atmosphere for our young people to learn from God’s Word and build relationships with mentors and friends. Since joining the staff of FCC-Keokuk in 2010, each class from birth through 12th grade now has learning goals that build upon one another to establish a solid foundation for our young people. I have a passion for implementing many Love and Logic techniques into my mentoring style for youth leaders as well as teaching parents to enhance home environments. Scripture references the importance of the next generation and my desire is that the people in our church value the next generation as much as God does!
I am married to Ed and we have twin boys, Dominick and Parker, who keep us active and our lives full of joy. We delight in family time, whether we are playing games, reading or even skiing. I also love being a Zumba Instructor as a fun hobby on the side.
What do I love about FCC?
What I love about First Christian Church is how our church location is ideal for growing the passion and faith walks of our attendees from the tri-state area. With church-goers from Iowa, Illinois and Missouri, we aim to fill our members to go out and spread the love of Jesus in their circle of influence. I love hearing stories from our youth on how they modeled Jesus whether it was during a sports practice, school day or even with a sibling.
