Feeling blessed, grateful and honored. Again, this year for our local “Wreaths Across America,” I have been asked to place a wreath on a U. S. Coast Guard unknown soldier tombstone in our National Cemetery. If you’re not familiar, this service coincides with the service in Arlington, Virginia! So emotional and well serving.
I’ve been asked several times, however, last year was my first opportunity to say yes. The weather was, to say the least, very cold, wet and snowing, but hearts were very warm! This is a ceremony everyone should experience.
On Saturday, December 16 at 11 am, come to our beautiful National Cemetery (located nearest the veteran wall) 18th and Carroll Streets to witness Keokuk’s “Wreaths Across America!” It will warm your heart and soul!
