Our mission leads us to be and to share the good news of Jesus Christ!

Digging in the Dirt

I once heard someone say that if a seed doesn’t grow – it’s probably not the seed’s fault. Farmers have known for eons that it’s important to take care of the soil. In more recent times, lawn companies will come to your property, take a soil sample, and tell you exactly what you need to do in order to have a healthy, happy crop of grass.

Sometimes, the problems with our soil is obvious. If you have 6 inches of water sitting in your back yard, or more weeds than grass, then you probably know where to start. However, sometimes the barriers to growth can be more difficult to see.
For the next four weeks, we are going to be exploring what it means to GROW in faith and spiritual maturity over the long haul of life. As we’ll discover, the Bible loves agricultural and gardening metaphors. Don’t forget… God planted the first garden and the job of the first man and woman was to tend it!

So, during this spring season of planting and growing, let’s cultivate the soil of our lives in such a way that the seeds of the Good News can really take root and GROW!
