I had a wonderful opportunity to spend Saturday with eleven kids on Holy Ground at the Spiritual Retreat at the Christian Conference Center in Newton while Pastor Brian was ministering to the adults. The break from the chaos of everyday life and routines was refreshing for not only me but the families that made it a priority to attend. Matthew 5:16 was one of my focus scriptures; sharing how important it is to shine God’s light. “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your father who is in Heaven.” When we have things that we choose not to give over to God, we can’t shine our light, which is the very purpose God gave each of us to do once we surrendered our lives to Him. We teach others what Jesus is like through our actions, words and attitudes in every situation. People are searching for the light that they see, challenge yourself to be Jesus’ reflection for someone this week.
