Handle with Care!

I read recently that nine out of ten people who attempt suicide and survive will not go on to die by suicide at a later date. Apparently, coming that close to losing everything reminds a person of exactly how precious life is. Indeed, almost everyone I’ve ever known who has had a brush with death realizes some things in our lives deserve to be “handled with care.”

I’ve noticed that a lot of promises are made in hospitals and emergency rooms: “Lord, I know I haven’t been as faithful as I could have been… but if you would only see to it that I come through this, I promise to turn a new page.” Hopefully, most of us don’t have to have a near fatal encounter to become good stewards of God’s gifts.

I believe God wants us to enjoy all the abundance life has to offer. But I also believe God has some expectations about how we care for our valuable resources – from our money, to our time, to the stewardship of the Gospel itself.

Join us in worship as we explore, in very practical ways, how God might find us “trustworthy” in our care of his creation.
