Our mission leads us to be and to share the good news of Jesus Christ!

The Last Word

I just read an article in the New York Times that begins: “ONE of the most striking scientific discoveries about religion in recent years is that going to church weekly is good for you. Religious attendance boosts the immune system and decreases blood pressure. It may add as much as two to three years to your life.” My unscientific intuition is that those who participate not only in weekly worship but in small groups, as well, experience even more benefits in terms of health and emotional well-being.

If that sounds like something you might want, I have good news for you! On Wednesday, September 3, we begin our L.I.F.E. (Living In Faith Everyday) groups. There is literally something for everyone, from our nursery, children’s and youth ministries, to a wide assortment of Bible studies and interest groups. There are also some new offerings, like The Gathering (for 20, 30, and 40 somethings), which will be led by Pastor Brian and Stephanie Nixon. Brochures detailing our Wednesday and Sunday L.I.F.E groups are available at church.

Our theme for this year is Finding Your Place on the Journey. If you haven’t already, I encourage you to find your place. It’s fun – and it’s good for you!
