Our mission leads us to be and to share the good news of Jesus Christ!

The Last Word

When the Disciples of Christ movement rolled across the country in the early and mid-1800s, one of the central messages was that even though we are different from one another in many ways, we are all a part of Christ’s church. It was an idea that echoed Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians: “For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.” (1 Cor. 12:12).

The idea that captured the first generation of Disciples was a solidly Biblical one: “We can find unity in diversity.” In fact, that is the only way it can work! Hands, feet, eyes, ears and mouth all have to work together!

This year, the focus for our church will be “Finding Your Place on the Journey.” This Saturday night, we will come together for our annual Disciples Together worship service at Rand Park to celebrate our unity. On Sunday morning we will scatter to serve! Even though we represent four distinct worship services, many small groups, and a hugely diverse group of individuals, we are the Body of Christ, both at work and in worship. Come and discover your place on the journey!
